Qinggan Huoxue Recipe Protects against Experimental Alcoholic Liver Fibrosis through CXCL16 Inhibition

QGHXR reduced CXCL16 levels after ethanol plus CCl4 administration in mice. C57BL/6J mice were either fed a Lieber–DeCarli liquid diet containing 4% ethanol or pair-fed a control diet, and mice were intraperitoneally injected with CCl4 (0.1 mL/kg) for 8 weeks. At week 5, mice were administered with 100, 200, and 400 mg/kg QGHXR by gavage daily for 4 weeks. (a) The level of CXCL16 in serum were determined by an ELISA assay. (b) The levels of CXCL16 and CXCR6 mRNA in the liver were determined by real-time PCR. (c) The levels of CXCL16 and CXCR6 protein expression in the liver were determined by western blot.
