Tracheostomy cough reflex grading score (TCRGS).

Tracheostomy cough reflex grading score (TCRGS)

1 pointPatients with tracheotomy intubation persistently sealed time ≥24 hours, have a strong cough, and can spit out or swallow sputum spontaneously.
2 pointsPatients with 12 h/d ≤tracheotomy intubation indirectly sealed time <24 h/d, with strong cough and partially spontaneous sputum, requiring passive aspiration of sputum ≤3 times/d.
3 pointsPatients with tracheotomy intubation indirect sealed time <12 h/d, with strong cough and partially spontaneous sputum, requiring passive aspiration of sputum 4–6 times/d.
4 pointsPatients with tracheotomy intubation incisions that cannot be sealed, coughing weakly, unable to sputum spontaneously, requiring passive aspiration of sputum 7–10 times/d, and shallow aspiration that induces a cough reflex.
5 pointsPatients are unable to seal the tracheotomy intubation incisions, cough weakly, cannot spontaneously expel sputum, requiring passive aspiration of sputum >11 times/d, and deep coughing can induce cough reflex.
