Mechanism of Forming Low Resistivity in Shale Reservoirs
Figure 4
Extraction of characteristic parameters of shale pore structure, including (a) core T2 diagram from NMR scanning, (b) core photo from CT scanning, and (c) mineral distribution diagram (size: mm; pixel: 1 μm). (a) Some representative samples from Longmaxi Formation in Changning-Weiyuan National Demonstration Area, Sichuan Basin, were analyzed by the core displacement apparatus MeoMR23-060H-I NMR manufactured by Suzhou Niumag Analytical Instrument Corporation in China to determine the pore diameter distribution. (b) A bimodal shape can be apparently seen in (a) whereas laminations from GE Phoenix X-ray CT scan in (b). On the whole, the lamination with obvious orientation is mutually complementary with the results from the NMR T2 spectroscopy. (c) A quantitative evaluation of minerals by scanning electron microscopy (QEMSCAN) demonstrated that pyrite presenting a discontinuously massive extension, amounting 1.61% of the total area (c).
