The LIA was injected into the following layers: around the medial and lateral collateral ligament; the medial, lateral, and posterior capsules; the vastus medialis obliquus muscle and quadriceps tendon; and the prepatellar tissues and subcutaneous tissues. These site injections caused the following nerve endings that innervate the knee to be blocked.
