Morphological features and Nox2 expression in APA adjacent tissue. Adrenal hyperplasia is defined as a continuous distribution of adrenal ZG or extended focal thickness greater than 200 μm. (a) In the APA adjacent tissue, ZG hyperplasia was demonstrated by HES. Adrenocortical nodule was surrounded by hyperplastic ZG cells and composed of ZF-like cells in APA. (b) Nox2 was expressed in the entire hyperplasic ZG and ZR cells, but not adrenocortical nodule. (c) Dab2 was expressed in the entire hyperplasic ZG cells.
