Cardiovascular phenotype of the CKD model. Echocardiography was performed before starting the CKD model ( per group). One group of mice was fed with HPD for 7 days (HPD7) and followed until day 84. This group was compared to mice fed with SCD throughout the study period. Both groups were evaluated by echocardiography on day 84 (SCD: ; HPD7: ). Evaluation included (a) EF, (b) FS, and (c) LV mass. (d) Abdominal aortas of the 7-day HPD group and the SCD group were stained with alizarin red.
