Impact of Ovariectomy on the Anterior Pituitary Gland in Female Rats

<div>Effect of E2 supplementation on gonadotropin subunit gene expression after OVX. Gonadotropin <i>α</i> (a), LH<i>β</i> (b), and FSH<i>β</i> subunit (c) mRNA expression from the anterior pituitary in sham-operated (control), OVX, and OVX + E2 rats was compared by quantitative RT-PCR analysis. Samples for each experimental group were run in duplicate and normalized to the mRNA levels of GAPDH as a housekeeping gene.
