Analysis of Electrodeposited Nickel-Iron Alloy Film Composition Using Particle-Induced X-Ray Emission

The (Ni + Fe)/Au ratio determined by PIXE as a function of the integrated deposition current for all the samples. The deposition potentials varied from −700 mV to −1200 mV and the deposition times were either 6 or 60 min. The upper horizontal axis indicates an approximate average deposit thickness, calculated assuming 100% current efficiency. The solid line with a slope of unity is a guide to the eye. The (Ni + Fe)/Au results fall below this line at lower integrated currents.
