Thiazolopyridines Improve Adipocyte Function by Inhibiting 11 Beta-HSD1 Oxoreductase Activity

Bidirectional oxoreductase (conversion of cortisone to active cortisol, black bars) and dehydrogenase (conversion of cortisol to inactive cortisone, open bars) activity of the 11β-HSD1 enzyme in 3T3-L1 adipocytes. Cells were grown to confluence and differentiated into adipocytes by day 8 of the treatment. Cells were incubated in DMEM containing cortisone or cortisol (1 μM) for 20 min and the respective metabolites/conversion ratios were measured by LC-MS.
