Surface-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy for Monitoring Extravirgin Olive Oil Bioactive Components

Schematic description of the data elaboration procedure based on the wavelet algorithm. The measured spectrum of an olive oil sample is reported in (a) panel. The signal exhibits a strong fluorescence signal centred at 1017 cm−1, corresponding to a wavelength of about 675 nm. Using direct wavelet transform (DWT) algorithm, the signal has been decomposed in components at different scales. The signal has been reconstructed by excluding high-scaled ((b) panel) and low-scaled ((c) panel) components. The resulting signal is shown in (d) panel.
