Assessing Redox Properties of Natural Organic Matters with regard to Electron Exchange Capacity and Redox-Active Functional Groups

The reducing capacity of different molecular weight fractions of PPNOM in their native and reduced states. Each reduced sample was prepared by H2 in the presence of two Pd catalysts. The reducing capacities were determined by the difference of Fe[III] before and after reacting with ferricyanide. Each data were normalized into meq eā/g C, which is equal to mmol eā/g C in numerical value.
