EEC and WEC prevent metabolic disorders included in C57BL/6 mice by a high-fat diet. (a) Body weight. (b) Intraperitoneal glucose tolerance test. The mice were fasted for 12 hours, and the fasting blood glucose was measured, and then 1 g glucose/1 kg body weight was given by intraperitoneal injection. And the blood glucose levels at 15, 30, 60, 90, and 120 min were tested. (c) Intraperitoneal insulin tolerance test. The blood glucose level was tested at 0, 15, 30, 60, 90, and 120 min following the intraperitoneal injection of insulin (0.75 U/kg body weight).
