Abnormal Peripheral Neutrophil Transcriptome in Newly Diagnosed Type 2 Diabetes Patients

Figure 1

Distinct peripheral neutrophil transcriptome from newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes (T2D) patients from that of healthy controls. Heatmap shows differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in neutrophils freshly isolated from healthy controls (purple, ) and patients with newly diagnosed T2D (orange, ). DEGs of T2D compared with heathy controls are defined as levels of for upregulated genes and ≤0.5 for downregulated genes. The axis shows the T2D patients and healthy controls. The axis shows DEGs. The orange color represents the log10 transformed gene expression level. The dark orange represents high expression level and the light orange represents low expression level.
