ROS-ERK Pathway as Dual Mediators of Cellular Injury and Autophagy-Associated Adaptive Response in Urinary Protein-Irritated Renal Tubular Epithelial Cells

Effect of MEK inhibitor on urinary protein-induced injury. MEK inhibitor U0126 (10 μM) was administered 1 h before the addition of 8 g/l urinary proteins. The aliquots of cell lysate were subjected to Western blot analysis of p-ERK and t-ERK levels (a, b), and cellular apoptosis was assessed by Annexin V-FITC/PI flow cytometry analysis (c, d) at 48 h.
