Characteristics Associated with Early Worsening of Retinopathy in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Diagnosed with Retinopathy at Their First Visit: A Retrospective Observational Study
Figure 2
Two-dimensional density plots and regression line of baseline HbA1c and ΔHbA1c comparing the retinopathy worsening (blue) and nonworsening (red) groups in patients with simple diabetic retinopathy (SDR). The -axis represents baseline HbA1c level, whereas the -axis represents Δ3 M HbA1c (a), Δ6 M HbA1c (b), or Δ12 M HbA1c (c). High baseline HbA1c was associated with lower levels of Δ3 M HbA1c, Δ6 M HbA1c, and Δ12 M HbA1c. The worsening group had greater baseline HbA1c distribution at the high region and greater Δ3 M HbA1c, Δ6 M HbA1c, and Δ12 MHbA1c distribution at the low region compared to the nonworsening group.
