Chemical Composition, Antibacterial, Antifungal and Antidiabetic Activities of Ethanolic Extracts of Opuntia dillenii Fruits Collected from Morocco

Antifungal activity of O. dillenii fruit ethanolic extracts (peel, seeds and juice). Cells were cultured in the presence or absence of 1 mg/mL of each extract and the growth rate of cells was monitored every 2 h by measuring the OD600, as described in the materials and methods section. The residual extract of Fredolia aretioides was used as a positive control due to its recognized antifungal activity [32] and DMSO was used as a negative control. All experiments were carried out in triplicate. Error bars are shown; when they are not visible, they are shown smaller than the data symbols.
