Gal-9 expression on primary cultured trophoblasts. (a) Expression of Gal-9 on primary cultured trophoblast cells was observed by immunohistochemistry (bar = 20 μm) in normal pregnancy and abortion-prone matings. Trophoblastic cells were identified by CK-7. (b) AOD showed that Gal-9 was downregulated in abortion-prone groups in trophoblasts, and flow cytometry measurements demonstrated Gal-9 protein on trophoblast cell surfaces (c, d). There appeared to be an obvious decrease in mean fluorescence intensity of Gal-9 among trophoblasts from abortion-prone matings (). ; .
