Elemental Diet Enriched with Amino Acids Alleviates Mucosal Inflammatory Response and Prevents Colonic Epithelial Barrier Dysfunction in Mice with DSS-Induced Chronic Colitis

An elemental diet enriched in amino acids inhibits the predominant Th1/Th17 responses in the colon of colitis-bearing mice. Flow cytometric analysis of CD3+CD4+ T (a), CD3+CD8+ T (b), CD4+ IFN-γ+ Th1 (c), and CD4+ IL17A+ Th17 cells (d) in the spleen, mesenteric lymph node (MLNs), and lamina propria mononuclear cells (LPMCs) from individual groups of mice were calculated.
