Measurement of the expression level of cytokines secreted by macrophages treated with the following: nanocomplex (a drug-conjugated gold nanorods), the free drug (phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3Kα) inhibitor) and GNR; cholesterol-coated gold nanorods  and compared to the control untreated cells by using CBA array beads by flow cytometry.
