Effect of Steric Constraint at the γ-Backbone Position on the Conformations and Hybridization Properties of PNAs

<table>UV-melting profiles of PNA1, 3, 8, and 9 following hybridization with a complementary DNA strand. The concentration of each oligomer was 5 <i>μ</i>M. Both the heating and cooling runs were performed. They showed nearly identical profiles. <u>T</u>: modified monomer with phe side-chain.</table>
