Heterogeneous Responses of Ovarian Cancer Cells to Silver Nanoparticles as a Single Agent and in Combination with Cisplatin

Quantification of ROS in ovarian cancer cells before and after NP exposure. A2780, SKOV3, and OVCAR3 cells were seeded and allowed to attach overnight and then treated with AgNP (10 or 100 μg/ml) or vehicle for 24 hours. Cells were washed with PBS and incubated with PBS containing the ROS responsive dye, H2DCF-DA, and then ROS was assessed by fluorescence microscopy. Dye-free controls of cells treated were used to verify the specificity of the fluorescence for ROS detection.
