Size, Shape, and Material Effects in Ferroelectric Octahedral Nanoparticles

In the PT/ST system, as the sides length of the octahedral nanoparticles increase, various polarization patterns are observed: (a) monodomain, (b) vortex, and (c) multidomain. The local directions of the coupled polarization density are indicated by arrows, and the color change indicated the field intensity change. The unit of polarization is C/m². The side lengths of the three octahedral particles are 1.1, 6.5, and 10.2 nm.
