The known DNA binding motif TGAAACA of transcription factor STE12 for S. cerevisiae genes YML047C (a), YLR452C (b), and YCL055W (c) is conserved in the alignment of orthologous gene promoter regions of closely related yeast species, namely, S. cerevisiae, S. mikatae, S. bayanus, and S. paradoxus.
