Patterns of response with ipilimumab therapy [28]. There have been 4 response patterns observed in advanced melanoma patients treated with ipilimumab at 10 mg/kg in phase II studies, and all have been associated with favorable patient outcomes. They are (a) response in baseline lesions; (b) stable disease; (c) response after initial increase in total tumor volume; and (d) reduction in total tumor burden after the appearance of new lesions.
