Cellular bioavailability of arsenic in A549 cells after 24 h incubation with thio-DMAV. Logarithmically growing A549 cells were treated with thio-DMAV for 24 h, trypsinized, and cell number as well as cell volume was determined. Finally, arsenic was quantified by electrothermal atomic absorption spectroscopy. Shown are mean values of at least six independent determinations +/± SD; n.d.: below detection limit.
