Comparison of In Vitro Endocrine Activity of Phthalates and Alternative Plasticizers

Antiestrogenic activity of phthalates and substitutes in the E-Screen antagonist assay. MCF-7 cells were exposed for 120 h to different concentrations of DEHP, DINP (a), DEHT, DINCH, TOTM (b), POLYSORB® isosorbide, or POLYSORB® ID 46 (c) in presence of 1 pM E2. Solvent (SC) and ICI 182,780 (ICI) were used as controls. Results represent the mean proliferative effect compared to the solvent control without E2 (=1) ±SD of 3 replicates from one representative assay out of 2 assays. Statistically significant decrease compared to SC with E2 ().
