The TA is denervated by resecting a segment of the peroneal nerve. The denervated TA is treated with the NMEG-NMZ technique. An NMEG pedicle with a nerve branch is harvested from the NMZ of the GM-l (boxed region) and implanted to the NMZ of the denervated TA muscle.
