Antioxidant and Astroprotective Effects of a Pulicaria incisa Infusion

Zinc induces ROS generation and the Pi infusion attenuates ROS production following treatment of astrocytes with zinc. Astrocytes were preloaded with DCF-DA for 30 min and washed with PBS. They were then pre-incubated for 2 h with various concentrations of Pi infusion. Then, ZnCl₂ (50 μM) was added and the resulting fluorescence signal was measured at the indicated time points. The results represent means ± SEM of two experiments (𝑛=8). ^∗𝑃<0.05,^∗∗∗𝑃<0.001 compared to cells treated with zinc alone.
