Effect of piceatannol on neutrophil apoptosis. The lifespan of human neutrophils was recorded by flow cytometry, using double-staining with annexin-V (AN) and propidium iodide (PI). Of the population of 5 000 granulocytes, the percentage of live (AN−/PI−), apoptotic (AN+/PI−), and dead cells (AN+/PI+) was calculated. The percentage of dead neutrophils (0.1-0.2%) was not significantly increased in the presence of piceatannol. Mean ± SEM, , versus Control (0).
