Transfection of cells with miR-181c-5p agomir (miR-181c-5p) resulted in significant overexpression of miR-181c-5p in H9C2 cardiomyocytes (a), and overexpression of miR-181c-5p exacerbated the H/R-induced H9C2 cell injury, as evidenced by further increased LDH release (b), reduced cell viability (c), and increased apoptotic cell death as evidenced by increased cleaved caspase 3 and Bax/Bcl-2 (d) and increased TUNEL-positive cells (e).
