Genipin Ameliorates Carbon Tetrachloride-Induced Liver Injury in Mice via the Concomitant Inhibition of Inflammation and Induction of Autophagy

<div>Effects of genipin on serum ALT/AST activity (a), H&amp;E staining (b), macroscopic examination (c), and histological score (d) at 12, 24, and 48 h after CCl<sub>4</sub> exposure. Mice were intraperitoneally injected a mixture of CCl<sub>4</sub> (50%) and oil (50%) at a dose of 2 ml·kg<sup>-1</sup> body weight. Mice received an intravenous injection of 2.5 mg·kg<sup>-1</sup> genipin 2 h before CCl<sub>4</sub> exposure.
