Effects of CAPE on T cell differentiation in Th0- (a, c) and Th1-polarizing (b, d) conditions. Purified T cells ( cells/ml) were stimulated with plate-coated anti-CD3 (2 μg/ml) and soluble anti-CD28 (1 μg/ml) monoclonal antibodies for 72 h in the presence or absence of CAPE in 96-well plates. rIL-12 (10 ng/ml) and an anti-IL-4 mAb (5 μg/ml) were added along with the anti-CD28 mAb to polarize T cells into Th1 cells.
