Requirements for quinone-enhanced oxygen consumption in rat heart myocytes. Oxygen consumption was determined polarographically in a 3 ml reaction system at 37°C that contained 125 mM potassium phosphate buffer, pH 7.4, 140 mM NaCl, 10 mM glucose, and viable cardiac myocytes.
