Effect of anticancer quinones on cyanide-resistant oxygen consumption by cardiac myocytes. Oxygen consumption was measured with a Clark-type electrode in a 3 ml reaction system at 37°C that contained 125 mM potassium phosphate buffer, pH 7.4, 140 mM NaCl, 10 mM glucose, 5 mM KCN, and viable cardiac myocytes, with or without drugs.
