Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons from Fine Particulate Matter Induce Oxidative Stress and the Inflammatory Response in Human Vocal Fold Fibroblast Cells

<div>Inhibition of PM-induced IL-6 and IL-8 production by NAC in hVFFs pretreated with or without NAC (1 mM) for 2 h before exposure to PM for 24 h. After incubation, the cells were collected to analyze IL-6 and IL-8 gene expression by qRT-PCR and analysis of cell supernatants for IL-6 and IL-8 protein expression by ELISA.
