Catalpol-Induced AMPK Activation Alleviates Cisplatin-Induced Nephrotoxicity through the Mitochondrial-Dependent Pathway without Compromising Its Anticancer Properties

<div>AMPK is involved in the effect of CAT on mitophagy, ROS, and apoptosis. HK-2 cells were treated with CAT, CAT and Compound C, or free-fetal medium. Then, the cells were treated with the indicated drugs or complete medium. The changes in mitochondrial membrane potential (a), mitophagy activity (b), and ROS accumulation (c) are shown. Furthermore, the changes in apoptosis were assessed by TUNEL staining (d) and flow cytometry (e).
