Treatment of Diabetic Mice with a Combination of Ketogenic Diet and Aerobic Exercise via Modulations of PPARs Gene Programs

<div>Aerobic exercise activates PPAR<i>α</i> and PPAR<i>γ</i> and target proteins in liver. Diabetic mice were treated with different diet with or without eight-week aerobic exercise (12 m/min 5 times/week). Liver tissue lysates were subjected to Western blot analyses with specific antibodies (a). The protein band intensity of (b) PPAR<i>γ</i>, (c) FAS, (d) PPAR<i>α</i>, (e) P-ACC/ACC, and (f) CPT1<i>α</i> was normalized to <i>β</i>-actin.
