The effects of apigenin and resveratrol on the TNF--induced expression of ICAM-1, MCP-1, and VCAM-1 in astrocytes isolated from SHRSP/IZM. Time course: the astrocytes isolated from SHRSP/IZM were washed with FBS-free DMEM, before (10 M) TNF- and apigenin or resveratrol were added. The astrocytes were cultured for 1, 2, or 4 hours. The ICAM-1(a), MCP-1 (b), and VCAM-1 (c) mRNA measurements were carried out as described in Figure 1 and in the text. The bars represent the mean ± SD (n = 4).
