Publishing partnerships
Australian Society of Viticulture and Oenology and Hindawi partner

Hindawi and the Australian Society of Viticulture and Oenology enter into an agreement to transfer the Australian Journal of Grape and Wine Research to the Hindawi portfolio where future articles will be published under a Gold Open Access license.

Australian Society of Viticulture and Oenology (ASVO) and Hindawi have recently entered into a publishing partnership agreement whereby ASVO’s journal Australian Journal of Grape and Wine Research will be transferred to the Hindawi portfolio and become an open access journal. Australian Journal of Grape and Wine Research will be led by an expanded Editorial Board and will be led by Dr Terry Lee, Australian Society of Viticulture and Oenology, Australia.

Submissions are currently open and will continue to be during this transfer with no anticipated disruption to open submissions. The journal will remain under the ownership of ASVO while being fully managed by Hindawi. Hindawi will provide peer review administration, production and online publication – utilizing the in-house publishing platform – as well as day-to-day correspondence with the editorial teams and all marketing, promotion and development for the journal.

Brooke Howell, ASVO President said:

“The partnership helps deliver on one of the Society’s objectives to encourage, stimulate, support and promote the dissemination of research or technical information in viticulture and oenology or other sciences directly applied to the wine industry. The move to fully open access (OA) would increase the visibility and impact of quality research and promote the adoption of new technologies and ideas for practitioners benefiting both researchers and members.”

Emma Green, Director of Publishing Partnerships at Hindawi said:

“We are very proud and excited to support the Australian Society of Viticulture and Oenology as part of our Publishing Partnerships program for managed open access publishing. Collaboration between societies and publishers provides the opportunity to share expertise, systems and services to the benefit of the researchers that we serve. This partnership allows us to work collaboratively to transition the Australian Journal of Grape and Wine Research to open access in a sustainable and managed way by leveraging the key strengths of both partners.”

Dr Terry Lee, Chief Editor of Australian Journal of Grape and Wine Research said:

“Since its conception the AJGWR has maintained its high quality, providing a platform for both Australian and international researchers to share their work and is a valuable resource for practitioner’s keen to keep their business at the cutting edge. The move to OA will enhance publishing turnaround times and open the journal to the broader scientific and wine industry community as never before.”
