The sequelae of damage which can be potentiated by dysbiosis in the liver. The healthy liver goes through stages of fatty infiltration (hepatic steatosis), inflammation of the fatty liver (steatohepatitis), irreversible architectural damage (cirrhosis), and then finally at risk of malignancy (hepatocellular carcinoma).
