Commonality of Virulence-Promoting Function in Rhodococcus equi Virulence Associated Proteins (Vaps)

Vaps A, B, K, and N vary in their ability to promote lysosome dysfunction. NRK cells were incubated with or without varying concentrations of Vaps A, B, K, and N for 24 h. Cells were fixed and the lysosomes immunolabelled with an anti-LGP120 monoclonal antibody, followed by an Alexa Fluor 555-labelled secondary antibody. The lysosome sizes of images were quantified using automatic thresholding and quantification with ImageJ. Data are from the analyses of 10 images per condition ().
