Two-mode biosensing setup. Model showing how a Krestchmann configuration setup can be integrated into a two-mode intensity-difference system. The signal mode goes to the prism and probes the system whereas the reference mode goes directly to the detector. The input states can be any state quantum or classical. Intensity-difference measurements have the added advantage of removing any background noise from the signal we are interested in. This was taken from reference [40].
