Experimental protocol. A complete transverse incision was made 10 mm from the calcaneal insertion of the Achilles tendon ((a) and (b)). Clinical suture was used to suture the skin and iodine was directly applied (c). TDSCs (1 × 10⁶/0.1 mL DMEM) or BMSCs (1 × 10⁶/0.1 mL DMEM) were injected in the Achilles tendon with use of a syringe (d).
