Novel Technique of Gap Waveguide Cavity Resonator Sensor with High Resolution for Liquid Detection
Identifying properties of liquids is essential to many industries including the food, chemical and pharmaceutical industries. In a research article published in International Journal of Antennas and Propagation, Academic Editor Muhammad Ramlee Kamarudin and colleagues propose a novel sensor for characterization of liquids. This new sensor, in addition to demonstrating a highly accurate Q-factor, exhibits high sensitivity and dynamic range when compared with conventional microwave sensors.

On the Power-Splitting Relaying Protocol for SWIPT with Multiple UAVs in Downlink NOMA-IoT Networks
Unmanned aerial vehicle communication (UAV) and non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) are two promising technologies for wireless 5G networks and beyond. This research article in Wireless Communications and Mobile Computing, authored by Academic Editor Quoc-Tuan Vien and colleagues, focuses on the base station power-switching relaying protocol for a multiple-UAV NOMA in a simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) internet of things system.

A Finite Element Analysis Approach to Explain Sensitivity Degradation in Force Sensing Resistors Based on Conductive Polymer Composites
Force sensing resistors are cost-effective devices for measuring applied force when subjected to mechanical stress, with uses including robotics, catalysis and energy storage. However, they are susceptible to sensitivity degradation. In this research article authored by Academic Editor Carlos Palacio and colleagues, published in Journal of Sensors, the authors propose a set of 2D models simulating situations that favor sensitivity degradation.
