Histogram Analysis and Visual Heterogeneity of Diffusion-Weighted Imaging with Apparent Diffusion Coefficient Mapping in the Prediction of Molecular Subtypes of Invasive Breast Cancers

43-year-old woman with human epidermal growth factor receptor 2- (HER2-) positive invasive ductal carcinoma of the right breast on dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) (a), diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) (b), apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) map (c), histopathology (d), and HER2 staining (e). The histogram obtained (f) displayed a peak around 1.2 × 10−3 mm2/s and non-Gaussian distribution, in spite of being classified as low heterogeneity on visual assessment.
