Comparison of Rhenium and Iodine as Contrast Agents in X-Ray Imaging

Figure 11

Rhenium-to-iodine X-ray attenuation ratio. The experimental curve was derived by dividing the mean pixel intensity of rhenium by the mean pixel intensity of iodine and dividing this value by the incident air kerma. The theoretical curve, on the other hand, was calculated from data reported by the NIST [61]. Basically, it represents the ratio of the mass X-ray attenuation coefficient of rhenium to the mass X-ray attenuation of iodine.
