Niacin upregulated apoA I level in plasma of guinea pigs fed high fat diet. HDL (density = 1.09–1.24 g/mL) was separated from plasma of guinea pigs by sequential ultracentrifugation. The SDS-PAGE was performed on 15% SDS polyacrylamide gel, and the apolipoproteins were stained with coomassie brilliant blue. Densitometric quantitation of SDS-PAGE image was analyzed by Image-Pro Plus software. (a) shows the representative SDS-PAGE image of HDL.
