Significantly fewer IL-33+ cells were detected in liver tissues obtained from hepatitis B virus-related acute-on-chronic liver failure (HBV-ACLF) patients compared with those obtained from chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients and healthy controls (HC). Data shown are the mean number of IL-33+ cells (±SD) determined in 10 high-power fields (hpf; 200x). Group differences were analyzed by Mann-Whitney test.
