Arginine Relieves the Inflammatory Response and Enhances the Casein Expression in Bovine Mammary Epithelial Cells Induced by Lipopolysaccharide

The effect of arginine on LPS-induced cytokines mRNA expression in bovine mammary epithelial cells (BMECs). Pure 2nd generation BMECs were starved for 16 h and then cultured for 12 h in DMEM/F12 medium containing 0 or 10 μg/mL LPS and 0 or 100 μg/mL Arg. The mRNA levels of IL-1β, IL-6, and TNF-α were analyzed using qPCR. β-Actin was used as an internal reference gene. Data shown are means ± SEM of three independent experiments. Means with different letters (A, B, or C) are significantly different () from each other.
