Proliferative Effects of Histamine on Primary Human Pterygium Fibroblasts

Histamine had a proliferative effect on HPFs. Histamine promoted the proliferation of HPFs with concentrations of 10 μmol/L and above in the situations of 0% FBS and 5% FBS. High concentration (10–100 μmol/L) of histamine could partially cover the promotive effect of serum on HPFs. compared to 0 histamine and 0% FBS, compared to 0 histamine and 0% FBS, compared to 0.1 μmol/L histamine and 0% FBS, compared to 1 μmol/L histamine and 0% FBS, compared to 0 histamine and 5% FBS, and compared to 0 histamine and 5% FBS.
